What are flower essences?

Not a scent.
Not a shortcut.
A relationship.

Flower essences are highly diluted preparations traditionally made by placing flowers in spring water using sun or boiling methods, then preserving and further diluting the resulting stock.

They are used as a complementary ritual for working with emotional themes, inner patterns, and self-awareness. They are not essential oils, are not chosen for scent, and are not herbal tinctures used for a pharmacological dose of plant material.

The lineage

From flower
to feeling.

Edward Bach developed a system of 38 flower essences, each associated with an emotional state or way of meeting the world. Prophet draws inspiration from this tradition: listening to the inner life through a relationship with flowers.

A flower opens without force. In Prophet's energetic language, that movement becomes an invitation: soften the grip, listen for what is alive, and let the next possibility unfold.

The Prophet framework

A formula is a
frequency practice.

Each flower is associated, within flower-essence traditions, with a particular emotional quality or pattern. A formula brings several of those qualities into one focused composition.

The power of the practice is in relationship and repetition. Each time you meet the formula, you return to the same signal. You notice what appears. You create another opportunity to respond differently.

The essence does not hand you a new personality. It helps you stay with the lesson long enough for it to become lived.

How Prophet works

01

Attune

Name the frequency beneath the immediate problem: visibility, completion, boundaries, receiving, initiation, courage, openness, or interruption.

02

Meet the formula

Work with the essence consistently. The formula becomes a recurring portal back to the intention.

03

Notice

Pay attention to what becomes visible: a thought, dream, body cue, dynamic, unexpected no, or new capacity to remain present.

04

Integrate

Insight enters choice. Notice the pattern through sensation, breath, posture, impulse, boundary, and action.

05

Recalibrate

As one layer changes, your support may change with it. Continue, choose another formula, or refine the next blend.

What might I notice?

Sometimes the first shift
is simply honesty.

Flower essence work is often subtle. There is no required dramatic moment and no universal timeline.

You may catch a reaction earlier. A feeling may become more available. The same situation may arrive with a little more choice around it.

Do not force an interpretation. Ask: What am I able to notice now that I could not—or would not—notice before?

Questions, answered

Are flower essences essential oils?

No. They are not aromatic oils and are not used through scent. Flower essences are highly diluted water-based preparations made within a different tradition.

How quickly will I notice something?

The shifts people describe can come in waves. Some report a sense of release from the very first use. For others, the experience feels gentle and gradual: a little more space around a feeling, or a different response to something familiar.

We recommend giving yourself one to two months with the practice, using your essence as directed and noticing how you feel along the way. We think of it as cumulative: taking your drops, checking in, and getting to know your patterns over time. There's no set point when a big shift is supposed to happen.

This is why we recommend using the journal. Just a few lines about what's coming up, how you're responding, and what feels different. Looking back can help you notice the quieter changes that are easy to miss day to day. You don't need to force a story. Just write down what's true for you.

Can several flowers be used together?

Yes. Personal formulae commonly combine a small number of selected essences around one coherent pattern. More is not automatically better; the goal is precision.

Do the formulae contain alcohol?

Traditional stock essences are often preserved with brandy. Review the exact ingredients on the bottle, especially if you avoid alcohol or have a sensitivity.

A grounded note

The energetic language on this site describes the Prophet framework and the traditional way practitioners relate to flower essences. It is not a claim of a scientifically established biological mechanism. Controlled clinical research has not established that flower essences treat health conditions beyond placebo.
